The Public School Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside.

Important Information

• Applicants will be notified of their current status in May.

• Parents of accepted applicants must notify UGHS if the pupil will attend by June 23, 2023.  Bring your student to UGHS for the scheduled testing and scheduling days in May (this information will be in a letter from the school) even if you are not sure your student will attend.

• Non-resident students currently enrolled at UGES, Yorkville, Kansasville, and Raymond MUST apply again for Union Grove High School. These students may receive priority acceptance per state law.

Important Open Enrollment Dates

• February 5 - April 30, 2024 at 4:00pm – Parents must submit applications online or directly to the nonresident school district.

• June 7, 2024 – Nonresident school districts must mail notices of approval or denial. If the application is approved, the school district must notify the parents of the specific school or program to which the student is assigned. If the application is denied, parents have 30 days to file an appeal.

• June 14, 2024 – Resident districts must notify applicants if the application is denied. If the application is denied, parents have 30 days to file an appeal.

• June 28, 2024 – Parents of accepted applicants must notify the nonresident district if the student will attend the nonresident district in the 2024-25 school year. If the parent fails to make this notification, the nonresident district may refuse to allow the student to attend the district.

Transportation

Under the Open Enrollment law, transportation is the responsibility of the parents to transport their child(ren) to and from the nonresident school. While many car pool with other families or your child will drive, Union Grove High School will provide transportation to open enrollment students from eight designated locations within our school district, provided there is available space on the buses. More information about bussing and transportation agreements will be sent to families.

Families are invited to come during our open house dates on October 11, 2023 and February 7, 2024 to tour our building. Administration and staff are available during that time to answer questions.

We are no longer offering individual tours during school hours.
