Union Grove High School Performing Arts celebrates another milestone in selling out their spring musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, for the fourth year in a row. UGHS has sold out both their fall play and spring musical for their 2023-2024 theatrical season.
Cinderella boasts a cast of 72 cast and crew comprised of students from the high school and 7 grade school students representing Yorkville Elementary, Union Grove Elementary, and Raymond Elementary Schools. The musical will play for 5 public performances from March 8 through the 16. Cinderella is based on the 1997 teleplay featuring Whitney Houston and Brandy and features classic songs like "Impossible," "In My Own Little Corner," and "The Prince Is Giving a Ball." The production is directed by Rob Kroes and is assistant directed by Kim Sandberg. Lighting design is by Michael Kurhajec with costumes by Ian Anderson.
UGHS has already released their 2024-2025 theatrical season. Students will present Little Shop of Horrors in the fall and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the spring. The high school will continue its standing tradition of inviting grade school students to join in on the production of the spring musical. Ticketing information will be available in early fall of this year.
