Union Grove High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) and Student Council demonstrated their commitment to community service by collectively donating $1,000 to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin. The funds were raised through the dedicated efforts of both student groups to support the organization’s mission of assisting veterans in need.
The donation was presented during the school’s Veterans Day assembly on November 8. NHS President NaomiRae Truchon and Vice President Ashley Lamers represented their peers, delivering a heartfelt speech as they handed over the check. Their poise and gratitude resonated with the audience, honoring the sacrifices of the veterans in attendance.
In addition to the presentation, members of NHS and Student Council joined local veterans for breakfast before the assembly. They also served as escorts, walking the veterans into the gym for the event, further demonstrating their appreciation and respect for those who have served.
“We’re incredibly proud of our students for their efforts to give back to the community,” said Joel Adamczyk, Principal. “Their support for Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin not only reflects their leadership and compassion but also reinforces the values we strive to instill at Union Grove High School.”
The donation is a testament to the generosity and dedication of Union Grove’s student body, as well as their commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Thank you to NHS, Student Council, and all who contributed to this meaningful effort, and to our veterans for their service and sacrifice.
