From Sunday, April 6 through Tuesday, April 8, ten members of Union Grove High School’s HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Chapter traveled to the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells to attend the annual HOSA State Leadership Conference.
Accompanied by HOSA advisors Ms. Aleid van der Zel and Mrs. Commodore, the students participated in a wide range of activities designed to grow their knowledge, leadership, and connections in the healthcare field. They competed in events, took assessments on topics like biotechnology and organic chemistry, attended breakout sessions, and explored booths from colleges, universities, and medical centers at the conference expo.
Union Grove High School was proud to be one of only four schools—out of more than 200 in attendance—recognized for its partnership with a blood donation center and for hosting blood drives. The chapter was also honored for its impressive growth this year, reaching 56 active members!
A special shout-out goes to Samantha Geiss, who was recognized as a top scorer in the Organic Chemistry exam—an outstanding achievement in a competitive and challenging event.
Throughout the conference, students represented UGHS with professionalism, enthusiasm, and #BroncoFam pride. They networked with other HOSA members from across the state, made new friends, and, of course, enjoyed some well-deserved fun at the Kalahari water park.
This experience was both inspiring and rewarding, and the UGHS HOSA Chapter is already looking forward to planning for next year!
