More exciting news from the art department! Mehlia Michna won 4th place in the Congressional Art Competition for the First Congressional District of Wisconsin! Her 4th place winning artwork "Protector of Earth" will hang in Representative Steil's district offices for a year.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance (or with debit/credit/apple pay at the door). Tickets can be purchased at gofan.co. See below for more information. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students (ages 5+) and seniors 60+ are free (no tickets needed). All those arriving at 6pm or after need a ticket (except Seniors and those under 5). Cash and credit is accepted at the concession stand for food and beverages. *NOTE: JV match starts at 5pm, so these fans should not have to purchase a ticket since it's before 6pm.

Great accomplishments over the weekend. The Jazz Ensemble, Lu Jackowski, and Carsen Fladhammer all participated in STATE solo and ensemble.

Last week, 38 students enrolled in either Human Body Systems or Anatomy and Physiology courses visited Marquette University's gross laboratory to learn about the donor process and to see gross anatomy in person.
Marquette is the only school in the state that allows students from high schools to enter their laboratory under the direction of their future medical students. High school students rotate through various stations learning about the muscles of the upper and lower regions along with major organs of the body while being able to touch, hold and interact with both the donor bodies and future medical professionals.
Students also learn about how the donor process works and why body donation is a critical element in the medical pathway for the undergraduate students. It is Marquette's hope that this experience inspires our high school students to pursue a future in this field.
We have some exciting news from the Art Department! Ryah Glassen won the Congressional Art Competition for the First Congressional District of Wisconsin. Her winning Self-Portrait will hang in the United States Capitol Building for a year. This is quite the honor! Congratulations Ryah!
The UGHS Performing Arts performed the last show of their season last Friday.
When 3 devious high school students sneak into the performance center late at night they get a surprise encounter from a mad scientist and a wacky time machine. The result? A wild ride of memorable songs, corny jokes, and outlandish performances you will never forget! BLAST FROM THE PAST, our fully student-led cabaret, featured student selected numbers ranging from ABBA, The Beatles, John Denver, and more! The production was also student-run with student stage-managers, light design, sound design, deck, and house crew.
We look forward to what our 2023-2024 theatrical season has to offer!
Union Grove Elementary School is looking for 1 or 2 Work Study students for next school year. This position helps keep the building beautiful by assisting the Building and Grounds supervisor with various tasks and projects.

AP Biology students attended a research conference sponsored by UW-Milwaukee where they shared research on environmental effects on zebrafish embryo development.
The keynote speaker was UGHS graduate Natalie Vitek who is currently a sophomore at Carthage College. Natalie's younger sister Paige Vitek, along with her group members Audrey DeYong and Corrine DeYong were awarded Outstanding Research Poster for their work! Additionally Sam Grimes and Tobin Van De Water earned Special Commendation for their poster.
Congratulations to all! This opportunity was a preview of the types of conferences that students might participate in at a college level and was a great experience.
