📢 Let's welcome our new staff!
Kathryn Oliver - We are happy to officially announce Kathryn as a Family & Consumer Science Teacher! She has been teaching part-time over the last few years, and we're so glad to welcome her!
What will you be teaching? I will be teaching Foods 1, Foods 2, Independent Living, and Interior Design.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS? I am looking forward to teaching students real life skills that they can implement into their everyday lives, now and in the future.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education? I enjoy kayaking, baking, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. I also love to travel every chance I get!
What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education? I previously worked in food service and was a trainer for many years. After deciding to leave the food service industry I wanted to still educate individuals on life skills and how to prepare food safely. I found the perfect spot to do that in the FACS department though shadowing and long-term substituting.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching? "Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today." - Malcolm X
Welcome, Kathryn! #BroncoFAM ♥🤍

📢 Let's welcome our new staff!
Jessica Cayemberg - School Counselor (Last names S-Z), and UGHS alum!
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
Getting to know the students, families, and staff
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
Traveling, road trips, hiking, outdoor activities, reading, board games, hanging with family
What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education?
I love learning people's stories and getting to know them! I especially love sharing in the excitement of all of their present and future possibilities when it comes to pursuing their interests.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching?
None specifically, just that you have the power to change or create your story and you can do hard things!
Welcome (back), Jessica! #BroncoFAM ♥🤍

📢 Let's welcome our new staff!
Tiffany Lenza - School Counselor (Last names A-E)
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
I am SO excited to get started at UGHS! I'm most looking forward to getting to know my students and supporting them.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
I enjoy watching sports (especially basketball and soccer), spending time with my family, and playing cornhole.
What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education?
For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. Growing up, I enjoyed helping other students, and helping those that were younger than me. In my first semester of college, I decided that teaching was not what I wanted to do, so I switched my major to Psychology. I researched careers, and found school counseling, I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching?
"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Nelson Mandela
Welcome, Tiffany! #BroncoFAM ♥🤍

📢 Let's welcome our new staff!
Rachel Genrich - English Teacher
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS? I'm so excited for the sense of community I feel! I've been welcomed with open arms to a group of educators that are clearly passionate about their students. I feel lucky to be a part of that.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education? I love spending time with my family, tending to my many house plants, and finding new ways to be creative or crafty.
What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education? I've always loved working with young people and helping others in any way that I can. Teaching has always felt like the perfect blend of those two things. When I was in high school, I was challenged and inspired by my teacher, Ms. Giannangeli, which set me down the path of English Education. My professors at UW-Stevens Point deeply solidified that this is where I'm meant to be.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching? "Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes" - Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It reminds me, and my students, that your voice and your opinion matter. Sharing perspectives and learning from others is my favorite part of the English classroom.
Welcome, Rachel! #BroncoFAM ♥🤍

📢 Let's welcome our new staff!

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education? - I love anything sports related, and being active. I love to travel especially to National Parks to go hiking.
What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education? - I enjoy helping others reach their potential and succeed, so teaching kids seemed to be a perfect fit.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching? - The most important part of teaching is building positive relationships with those around you.
Welcome, Mary! #BroncoFAM ♥🤍

What inspired you to become a teacher/go into education? I was inspired to go into education because I wanted to continue to make a difference in students lives just like my former teachers did for me. 📊 Understanding the Tax Impact of the $34.9 Million Referendum
As we approach the November vote, we want to provide clear information about how the proposed capital referendum will affect property taxes in our Union Grove High School community.
If the referendum passes, the property tax impact will be $54 for every $100,000 of assessed fair market property value. For example, a home valued at $300,000 would see an increase of $162 per year—equivalent to just $13.50 per month—beginning in the 2025-26 school year.
This investment is crucial for addressing facility needs, including enhancing safety and security, improving ADA accessibility, and expanding classroom capacity for our Technical Education program.
For more details and to see how this might impact you, visit our website: http://www.ugbroncos.com/referendum2024
Your support helps build a stronger future for our students and community!
